Should a shimming plate be added?

Clause 12.5.4 of JB/T4735-1997 \"Steel Welded Atmospheric Pressure Vessels\" stipulates that a gasket with a thickness of not less than 4 mm should be placed under the butt weld joints of the edge plates........... I have now designed a self-supporting conical-top water storage tank with a diameter of 3 meters and a height of 5.5 meters, which is to be placed on an asphalt sand cushion. We have different opinions regarding whether a gasket is necessary for the butt welding of the edge plates; please discuss how Clause 12.5.4 of JB/T4735-1997 should be interpreted
Your standard selection is unreasonable; the GB/T50341-2003 standard for steel storage tanks should be used instead
The standards chosen by the poster are fine; this tank has a diameter of only 3 meters, so there’s no need to use shims
The jar isn’t big, so it’s not necessary to add it.
