Upper blowing time and lower blowing time

In fixed-bed batch gasification, the upward blowing time is shorter than the downward blowing time; the direct way to achieve this is by making the nitrogen injection time at the upper part shorter than that at the lower part. There are many opinions on this issue, and I would appreciate some guidance from everyone
In our plant’s gas generation section, air is supplied only for the top blowing, but not for the bottom blowing. The downward blowing time is slightly longer than the upward blowing time; this is done to maintain stability in the gasification layer and prevent it from rising. If too much gas is used, it will carry away a lot of heat, resulting in higher coal consumption!
