Gentlemen, I have a question. We are currently working on a project that involves removing hydrogen sulfide from refined gases for use in generating electricity via internal combustion engines. I would like to know whether using combustible gases after hydrogen sulfide removal for power generation is an emerging trend, what the size of this market is, and what are the best methods currently available for removing hydrogen sulfide. As far as I know, coalbed methane is also used for power generation; currently, the Japanese are providing this service to the Fushun Mining Bureau free of charge. The main equipment should already have been shipped, and once it succeeds, it will be rolled out across the country!
What do you mean by refined gas? Do you refer to the so-called dry gas? Dry gas is usually desulfurized using N-methyldiethanolamine. If there’s no other use for it, generating electricity is an option as well; it’s just a bit of a shame. Dry gas contains ethylene, which can be purified to produce styrene or used to manufacture light gasoline. There are companies in China that produce power using internal combustion engines. As far as I know, Zhuzhou Southern Gas Turbine Complete Equipment Manufacturing and Installation Company does this, but we have never used their services.
Desulfurization and dewaxing of refinery dry gas are widely used in the treatment of hydrogen production feedstocks, with excess capacity available for power generation, which is in line with **industrial policies and contributes to energy conservation and emission reduction. But I think your company’s power generation project isn’t real; it still relies on coal to produce steam, merely in order to avoid **industrial policies**.
