I hope someone experienced can recommend a good book on synthesis towers. The books should be available on the market, preferably published within the last 5 years. They should focus on material balance and heat balance in synthesis towers, as well as aspects related to the design of such towers. I already have all the information available on forums, but I can’t find those books in Beijing; they are from 10 years ago... Thank you all in advance
This is likely to be difficult; it seems that there have been very few monographs published in the past five years on topics such as material balance and heat balance in synthesis towers, as well as synthesis tower design, with only some chapters in existing books addressing these subjects. But personally, I think the following three books might have what you’re looking for. 1. Engineering of Ammonia Synthesis, by Jiang Shengjie, 3 volumes, Petrochemical Industry Press: http://bbs.hcbbs.com/viewthread.php?tid=174872&highlight=%BA%CF%B3%C9%B0%B1%B9%A4%D1%A7 2. Series on Fertilizer Engineering – Ammonia Synthesis, edited by Shen Jun, Chemical Industry Press: http://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-6521-1-1.html 3. Production Processes in Large-Scale Ammonia Plants, edited by Yuan Yi and Zeng Xianlong from Dalian Institute of Technology, Chemical Industry Press: http://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-123483-1-1.html This post was last edited by Huang Xinhui on 2009-3-24 at 16:42
Synthetic Ammonia Section – Compiled Materials (III)---Industry Books. There are no better books than those listed in this post. At first, I was just like the original poster; I tried to buy these books from bookstores and online, but couldn’t find them. Now I simply print them myself – I can print whatever book or page I want. So, the original poster might as well buy a printer: lol
