At the same time, what kind of information do we need to obtain in order to learn and operate this manufacturer’s DCS in the future? The more detailed the answer, the better! Thank you!

(Image and program configuration) ； Interlock control logic diagram (program configuration) ； Materials provided by the DCS manufacturer: Terminal wiring diagram ； Hardware manual ； Operator Manual ； Engineer’s Manual ； If necessary, a set of operation instructions for the DCS of this device can be requested ；
If you are a design institute, the following needs to be prepared: 1. A list of I/O points, including the quantities of RTD, KC, AI, AO, DI, DO, etc., as well as the requirements for redundancy. 2. Diagrams of complex control loops. 3. Interlock logic diagrams. 4. General control requirements and special control requirements
At the DCS condition meeting, the design unit should prepare the following documents: . Table of IO point distribution by unit. Interior layout plan of the control room. Required materials: . Production engineers don’t learn much at condition meetings; it is the design team that needs to take things seriously, as production engineers can learn more during training and configuration phases.
If there are only a few days left before the start, then no need to go into detailed configurations. In this case, it is likely that only the issues encountered by DCS manufacturers in terms of hardware configuration or software configuration frameworks, which need further clarification among the design institute, the end users, and the manufacturers, will be finally confirmed. Because the configuration data has already been provided to the DCS supplier after the order was placed.
The DCS startup meeting is likely to be short, so no specific knowledge regarding DCS configuration or operation can be acquired from it. But to truly learn the manufacturer’s DCS system, (of course, the relevant materials mentioned above are essential), I would like to focus on the aspects related to learning it. Help manuals, in electronic form, are definitely necessary; they are very useful for actual learning and maintenance. Our system has been in use for 6 years now, and we still consult the manuals from time to time to find answers to related questions. One more thing: if you really want to learn this system, go ahead and configure it yourself; doing it on your own is definitely different from watching someone else do it.
