Can a 0.5'' NPT thread be connected to a valve with a 12mm diameter?

1/2NPT is a US standard unit, while 12mm is a metric unit. I’m not sure what type of thread your valves have; it’s likely that they cannot be connected directly. If connection is necessary, an adapter will be required.

Is the 0.5'' NPT thread an internal thread? Do you want to use it for direct fitting? Direct fitting is not possible. The minimum bottom mean diameter of the internal thread is 19.772122, which is greater than 12; therefore, it is not suitable for mating. The improvement methods are as follows: 1. Change the internal thread to 1/4" Fnpt (provided the length and thickness of the pipe are sufficient); 2. Use hex-head internal and external screws along with a bushing of 0.5"x0.25" THD. If the valve is also NPT, it will definitely be 1/2 NPT, in which case one MNPT and one FNPT can be connected together perfectly.
The valve should probably be 3/8, right?
