Today, we discovered that on our reactor, nitrogen and air were connected to it through bends that had been welded together; this can lead to confusion between compressed air and nitrogen during repairs in confined spaces, with potentially fatal consequences. According to the drawings and specifications, both air and nitrogen supplies to the reactor should use quick-connect fittings, and it is absolutely not acceptable to weld them together just because it’s inconvenient to use connectors
Our company experienced an accident caused by nitrogen poisoning a long time ago; by mixing nitrogen with air, it’s clear that they don’t value the lives of their employees at all. I hope the person in charge will address this issue immediately. . . !
