On the treatment of salt sludge in chlor-alkali enterprises

Before the New Year, an environmental impact assessment was conducted for an ion-exchange membrane caustic soda project. Although approval was granted, I have been concerned about the issue of disposing of the salt sludge. The design team suggested using it to make bricks, but from what I understand, due to the large volume of salt sludge generated and its high salt content, the technology needed to use it in brick production is not yet mature; therefore, it is currently usually disposed of through landfilling. I wonder what better management methods colleagues here use in their actual work.
Chlor-alkali salt sludge can be used to produce lightweight magnesium carbonate, magnesium oxide, etc., which represents another potential use path; however, at present it is mostly landfilled.
