A threaded sleeve (steel wire threaded sleeve) is a new type of threaded fastener; it is a spring-shaped concentric body with internal and external threads, precision-machined from stainless steel wire with a high-precision diamond cross-section. Typical applications include repairing threaded holes in various important components that have become loose, such as the threaded holes in injection molding machine templates. 3 Using threaded sleeves for converting metric ↔ imperial threaded holes is very convenient and fast. Typical application: Importing equipment or machinery with imperial threads that need to be converted to metric threads due to issues with the availability of spare parts.
Threaded sleeves should not be used in applications where sealing is required. Under what circumstances is it usually used? Please give an introduction. I took a look at the installation process; it’s quite troublesome – drilling is required anyway. Since drilling is necessary, I might as well thread it myself. For use only in thread repair applications.
