Recently, the refinery of Daqing Petrochemical Company successfully used the TLSS-10 automatic mercaptan sulfur analyzer for analytical testing for the first time, putting an end to the manual method of measuring mercaptan sulfur that had been in use for 45 years. The TLSS-10 automatic thiol sulfur analyzer consists of a main unit, an imported titration device, and a PC. The key components of the titration device are all imported, offering stable and reliable performance with extremely low transmission noise. Automatic cleaning, automatic fluid replenishment, and fixed-volume addition are integrated mechanically and electronically. Multi-parameter setting and adjustment make the analysis of different types of samples simpler and faster, reducing analysis time and improving accuracy of the results. The endpoint is determined automatically, without the need for an indicator; the titration results and data are stored and printed automatically, and complete titration data is provided for analysis and research purposes. To further strengthen the management of military fuels and improve the quality of these fuels at the time of production, this factory has increased its investment in technology and actively adopted advanced techniques. In accordance with the national standard GB/T1792-1988, potentiometric titration is used to determine the levels of thiol sulfur in hydrogen sulfide-free jet fuel, gasoline, kerosene, and light diesel. According to the technicians at this plant, the accuracy of thiol sulfur data is of great significance for evaluating the odor of jet fuel, gasoline, kerosene, and light diesel, as well as for assessing the adverse effects on rubber components in fuel systems and the corrosion of those systems. The successful application of the TLSS-10 automatic thiol sulfur analyzer at Daqing Petrochemical has led to more consistent analysis results between the distillation unit and the product release stage for aviation fuel, thereby ensuring a higher quality of the fuel released for use.
