Why can’t I select text in AutCAD 2008?

I’m using AutCAD 2008 for drawing. The Chinese characters I typed at the beginning won’t be selected no matter what; only when everything is selected can they be chosen. What’s going on? It’s so frustrating!
Have you locked the layer containing the text you wrote? Unlocking it will solve the issue.
This issue might be related to the compatibility between the CAD version and the computer’s hardware; I’m not sure why this happens... As of now, I haven’t found a good solution. When I encounter such situations, I usually use the following methods to resolve them. 1. Use the re command (View→Regenerate); after running the command, check whether it can be selected. (When the graphics are complex, this method generally cannot solve the problem.) 2. Ctrl+A→E→Ctrl+Z. 3. On the text layer, press Ctrl+A → Change Layer. 4. Use some CAD plugin functions, such as one-click layer management features. The solution I mentioned only provides a temporary fix; after copying (or moving) the text a few times, the problem of being unable to select it reoccurs... I wonder if anyone knows a permanent solution to this issue, as it has been bothering me for several years now.
It’s likely that the layer containing the text has been locked. Check if there’s a locked icon on the text layer; clicking it will unlock it.
