The top of the vacuum distillation tower uses steam for three-stage vacuum extraction; why is the vacuum extractor at the tower top called a booster?
A three-stage vacuum pumping system with a booster pump actually consists of one booster pump and two steam ejectors, forming a three-stage vacuum pumping system. A booster jet pump is essentially also a steam ejector; it is a steam ejector installed to increase the pressure of the distillate gas, thereby overcoming the limit imposed by the saturated vapor pressure of water, before the distillate from the top of the vacuum tower enters the first condenser.
The term \"supercharger\" is used in reference to the vacuum tower system, which operates under negative pressure. When steam with a certain pressure and velocity passes through the ejector pump, the gas within the system mixes with the steam in the ejector pump, resulting in an increase in the pressure of the gas in the system; hence the name supercharger. In fact, this principle is the same as that of heat pump technology in multi-effect evaporation.
