Recently, through the collaborative efforts and persistent hard work of the engineering and technical staff at Guotai Company, another major scientific and technical challenge of the **\"863\" project was overcome: the new type of gasification furnace was able to undergo a seamless transfer without any disruptions. Overcoming this technical challenge will **reduce the number of start-up and shutdown cycles for the new type of gasifier; each cycle can save over 300,000 yuan in costs related to start-ups and shutdowns, thereby effectively lowering production costs. This advancement fills a gap both domestically and internationally. Guotai Company has three gasification furnaces; two of them are in operation at any given time, with one kept in reserve. In the past, during the operation of these furnaces, it was necessary to frequently replace the process burners. If a problem occurred with one of the burners on the two furnaces that were in use, operations would be halted and the third furnace brought online. However, due to limitations in the amount of hyperbaric oxygen available, the conventional method for switching reactors involves stopping operation first and then restarting it; during this switching period, the system operates with only one reactor active, resulting in insufficient gas supply to the gasification furnace. As a result, the acetic acid and methanol production systems are forced to operate at reduced capacity, leading to significant fluctuations in production levels. On average, the methanol production system has to operate at reduced capacity for 8 hours each time a reactor is switched, while it takes 24 hours for the acetic acid production system to return to normal capacity. Each such disruption results in losses of over 300,000 yuan due to reduced output. Overcoming the technical challenge of achieving smooth furnace switching without fluctuations in the new type of gasification furnace represents a significant achievement by Guotai Company in thoroughly implementing the scientific development concept and using technological innovation to address the financial crisis. This not only **improved the company’s economic efficiency and enhanced its competitive strength, but more importantly, it established a new technical standard for gasification furnaces and created a new operating model. It fully demonstrates the great advantages of the multi-nozzle opposed-type new gasification furnace in terms of load regulation and optimized operation, and it is of great significance for further promoting this technology within Yankuang Group both domestically and internationally, as well as for gaining a foothold in the global market.
