The amount of fine ash discharged from the upward dust collector in fixed-layer gas furnaces is very large; especially when coal rods are used, more than 20 carts’ worth of coal is burned per day. The large amount of dust generated during ash discharge results in an extremely poor working environment in the gas processing area. Currently, many factories use hydraulic gates to open periodically while the furnace is shut down (during ash discharge) in order to remove the ash. After that, the ash is washed and transported to a designated location using hand carts. Whether it’s coal blocks or ash, the volume is considerable. I wonder if there are any better solutions, such as installing ash discharge devices at the bottom of the dust collector, like conveyor pumps, which would certainly help reduce the pollution caused by dust in the working area. There isn’t a good solution available at the moment, but the fine ash produced can be used to make briquettes, with quite good results. There is an idea to install a water seal at the bottom of the separator, so that the fine ash that enters the separator can be washed away into the drain along with the water. This would help improve the environment and also eliminate the need to clean the separator at the end of each shift, thereby reducing the workload

We have tried this, but since its carbon content is 10–15% lower than that of the original material, it has an impact on the fixed carbon content of the briquettes; however, it has little effect on the strength of these briquettes. The problem here is whether there are any other environmentally friendly ways of discharging ash. The method of using water seals has indeed been tried, but it tends to get clogged very easily; therefore, it was switched back to dry discharge. The water seal is indeed a part of the separator that tends to get clogged easily. Recently, we used a method to reduce the fine dust flying everywhere during drying. Use a water hose to rinse it; after opening the separator, insert the hose inside to rinse, and that makes a big difference.
