Regarding the purging of oil pipes

A construction project in progress has heavy oil pipelines and light oil pipelines; in the absence of conditions for steam purging on site, can compressed air be used as a substitute? I earnestly ask for guidance from those with more experience.
It should be possible; I’ve done pipeline purging in oil depots before, using compressed air for that.
When the conditions for steam purging are not available on site, compressed air purging can be used as a substitute!
You can’t just use air for purging, right? I personally think steam should be used instead. Should diesel not be used as a substitute at the beginning when dealing with heavy oil? Sit down and watch others reply
It should be possible to purge it with steam or nitrogen.
