Generally speaking, the coal tar that condenses before the gas-liquid separator can be called heavy coal tar, while that which condenses mainly in the primary cooler is referred to as light coal tar
So what role do these two types of tar play in the horizontal tube type primary cooler?
Our factory uses light tar mixed with hot ammonia water for spraying in the primary cooler, which effectively reduces the resistance in that cooler. Before using this mixture, the resistance was around 2000 Pa, but after spraying it, it dropped to less than 500 Pa. I’m not sure about heavy tar
