What is the OH value of pure methanol related to?

The OH value of the pure methanol is not within the specified range, and adjusting the amount added or removed doesn’t help. What should be done? Please advise!

In general, excessive levels of free base rarely occur in monolcohol production. Is the poster using the liangchun process? Check whether amine substances have been introduced into the system
When trace amounts of ammonia are present in the feedstock, under methanol synthesis conditions, the chemical reaction leads to the formation of monomethylamine, dimethylamine, and trimethylamine. The boiling points of dimethylamine and trimethylamine are 7.4°C and 3.5°C respectively. By properly controlling the extractive distillation in the pre-distillation tower and regulating the condensation temperature at its top, it is generally possible to remove it.
Adjusting the temperature of the distillation tower usually results in satisfactory outcomes; such problems occur very rarely! It generally appears in the hydroxylate process for synthesizing amines!
