Hehe, I work in coking. I have worked on 7.63-meter top-charging coke ovens, and I have also been involved in converting 66-4 type coke ovens from top-charging to tamping type. The shift from ramming to top-loading is mainly due to market reasons, in order to increase the market share of coke. After all, you can’t make white steamed buns without white flour, right?
