Medium: Superheated steam. Temperature: 250–300°C; Pressure: 1.0–1.25 MPa. Pipe diameter: 100 mm. A Yokogawa split-type vortex flow meter is used. When problems arise, the flow rate indication remains normal when the steam pressure is above 1.1 MPa; however, when the steam pressure drops below 1.1 MPa, the flow rate fluctuates significantly, ranging from 0.5 t/h to 4.0 t/h. The production process continues normally, and no fluctuations in the process parameters have been observed. I would like to ask everyone what could be the cause of this
Large fluctuations in the vortex flow meter reading. Causes of the fault: 1) Influence of pipeline vibration; 2) The sensitivity is set too high ; 3) There are attachments on the sensor body ; 4) Damage to the piezoelectric crystal ; 5) Large fluctuations in the process. Remedial measures: 1) Strengthen filtering or vibration reduction ; 2) Reduce sensitivity ; 3) Clean the sensor body ; 4) Replace ; 5) Install the instrument on process pipelines with minimal flow fluctuations.
I agree with the above statements, but I only have my own opinions; please check them. We know that flow meters generally require pressure and temperature compensation. What I’m trying to say is it’s not that you haven’t taken pressure and temperature compensation into account – just find your design pressure, design temperature, design specific volume, as well as the actual flow rate and actual specific volume on site, and apply the compensation then it should be fine
