Which version is the most classic among Aspen2004, 2006, and v7?

Which of these three versions is the most classic, especially in terms of algorithm and simulation performance? I don’t know if it’s a mental bias of mine, but I really prefer 2004; I’ve never used 2006, and I have v7 but don’t use it often!
It seems like everyone has this mindset; I prefer to use 11.1
2004 runs quite fast. In comparison, I think 2004 is better; however, 2006 underwent significant changes. For example, the module for checking boiling points was integrated into Plus, and there might have been an increase in the content of the database as well. In order to stay in line with other users, I chose to use 2006. If it runs slower, so be it. I heard that V7 runs even slower, and it also encounters some operational errors—such as being unable to install properly or having conflicts with OFFICE at times. I haven’t dared to use it yet. I’m looking forward to the best version available, one whose speed is as fast as those from before 2004!
The classics are 11.1, 12 (because of cracks). All three of those you mentioned are new changes, and they are quite significant; it depends on personal opinion. :lol
Stay with v7. It’s better to have software that’s still new; the database has been updated. A new version always needs some functional improvements; otherwise, it wouldn’t be released. As for the speed of operation, more functions naturally mean it will be a bit slower, but it’s tolerable.
I recommend 2006, version 7, which has just been released; it inevitably has bugs and also requires a higher computer specification.

I started using it in 2004; I’ve never used earlier versions. It seems there are quite a few people who are fond of version 11.1!

It seems that v7 requires at least XP SP3 for installation; otherwise, the SQL 2005 components cannot be installed, and it’s not possible to use its database. Version v7 adds a TDE feature that enables the calculation of various parameters for pure substances; there are also fitting formulas for values such as Cp. It’s a good feature, though the calculation speed isn’t fast. The speed of searching for substances has slowed down significantly. Another point is that version v7 features integration, which seems to be a significant improvement.
I’ve had the V7 for a few days now, and it feels like there’s too much stuff in it, as well as taking up too much space. It was later deleted. I redid the system and found one from 2004 online to install; the space is significantly smaller. It’s only 100+M. I worked on a project where there were constant problems, and I never managed to figure out what was going on. . . . I’m not sure if it’s a version issue.

I have HYSYS2004 installed. There’s no need to download ASPEN2004; if V7 is available, then 2004 is not necessary. Hard drive space is limited, as the HYSYS2004 archive is 151MB in size. V7 is a virtual file of 4.96 G; just installing the two simulation software programs, ASPEN and HYSYS, requires 6+ G. This post was last edited by gxm417 on 2009-3-28 09:02]

In terms of performance, 11.1 is more stable, while in terms of databases, V7’s databases are definitely more powerful.
I had thought about installing V7 to give it a try, but after reading everyone’s discussions, I decided against it and will stick with my 2006 version. I’ve also used the 2004 version, but it doesn’t seem as well-integrated as the 2006 version.

V7 is still quite good; ASPEN HYSYS can now use its own database as well as Aspen’s database, which is a significant improvement, though the running speed has decreased. The RADFRAC of ASEPEN PLUS has integrated the RATEFRAC distillation module and is now available for use. Those from 2006 cannot be used without additional authorization documents.
