In terms of temperature control using mercury bulb thermometers and thermocouples, which method is more widely used in practice? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each? What are their characteristics in terms of cost, accuracy, and operability? Discussions are welcome; thanks for providing the technical information!
Mercury is inexpensive, but it is not widely used and cannot adjust the temperature control point. Thermocouples used with temperature display regulators are convenient to adjust and are the most commonly used.
Thermocouples should be more versatile, capable of measuring higher temperatures, and also safer.
