I’m about to take the professional English exam for Sinopec. There are 15 days left; I’ve only reached lesson 15 in the general English course, and I haven’t even started studying the syllabus yet. My English level is average, and it’s been four years since I last took an English exam. Please suggest ways in which I can improve my score significantly within these 15 days! Thank you!
I took the exam in 2007 and scored 80+ points. My experience is that it’s not necessary to read every article; just skip those that are difficult to understand. For topics related to oil, pay close attention to them; for popular science articles, pick out a few that are easy to understand and read. Even if you can’t finish reading the original text in English, make sure to read the translations as well. Good luck!
If you can’t finish reading it, take a close look at the translation – it’s definitely useful, and the translation is quite interesting as well
