The plant modification involves the welding of 18 KM of pipelines. When discussing the construction plan, some suggested using TIG welding only for alloy steel, 20G, and 3.5MPa steam pipelines, while others advocated using TIG welding for all pipelines. What are the current requirements for pipeline welding standards, and which approach is more scientific? I seek advice from those who are more knowledgeable!
There is also the issue of costs and expenses. It is not necessary to use argon-electric welding for all pipes, but this is an exception if cost and construction time are not taken into consideration!
That’s exactly where the focus of the issue lies! However, compared to the investment in a project, the additional cost is not much, roughly 1 yuan per 10 meters. From the perspective of future system purging and pressure testing, this increase in cost should be worthwhile.
