Could any senior with experience in operating ammonia-cooled shell crystallizers and ammonia tanks please explain the process at the ammonia tank return port?
Liquid ammonia is distributed by gravity through two saddle-shaped main pipes leading from the bottom of the ammonia tank to the bottom of each outer tube; two reverse-saddle shaped main pipes are connected to the top of each outer tube and lead up to the top of the ammonia tank, where the gaseous ammonia is pumped away by the compressor. The terminology isn’t very professional, but you should understand it!
