Problem with damaged compressor inlet filter

The material of the compressor inlet filter is 316; upon inspection shortly after the unit was put into operation, it was found to be completely corroded. Please discuss the possible causes. To be more specific, such as what causes it and which chemical reactions are involved, etc
What is the manufacturing process? What are the components of the gas?
Does the gas composition contain hydrogen sulfide? What is the temperature? Dew point corrosion?
The Shell process uses carbon monoxide and hydrogen as its main components; it also contains acidic substances such as chloride ions and hydrogen sulfide, with acids being the primary components.
