What are the advantages and disadvantages of cartridge mechanical seals compared with ordinary single-sided seals?

Regarding the mechanical seal of centrifugal pumps, is the ordinary single balance (single-sided balance???) mechanical seal better, or the cartridge mechanical seal? I have just started in this industry, so I don’t know. I hope someone can give me some advice! Thank you!
Now it seems that most of them are cartridge-type seals. Mainly for the convenience of maintenance. The so-called single-sided balanced type corresponds to the double-end seal and the unbalanced type seal. In different occasions, different mechanical seals are used. It's not a question of whether it's good or not, it's a question of cost-effectiveness.
Are there any disadvantages to cartridge mechanical seals?
Nowadays, cartridge sealing is basically used, which is easy to maintain and has good sealing effect. Basically, there is no need to adjust the compression amount.
