The technical transformation of the installation requires the use of 2205 duplex steel for the tower, tower internals, pipe valves, etc. The design institute has decided to use imported duplex steel because it believes that the quality of domestic duplex steel is not good. I don’t know much about the domestic production situation of duplex steel. I wonder what experts have to say? Can you guys discuss it? I have a good idea! Be more enthusiastic!
The quality of domestically produced products may be slightly worse. It depends on your working conditions. Buying one from a big manufacturer may be better. If not, replace it with a better dual-phase steel, such as higher-grade 2507.
My principle is to support domestic products! As long as the performance meets the requirements, use it!
What’s wrong with domestically produced steel? As long as it’s produced by a large steel factory, there’s no problem with the quality.
I still agree with the opinion of the design institute to use imported ones! There is indeed a gap in the content of precious metals between domestic steel and some materials. The most important thing is that the domestic processing technology cannot reach the level of imports! Our company uses a kind of precipitation hardening stainless steel, which is made of domestic materials. After heat treatment, the expected effect cannot be achieved, but the effect of imported products is immediate!
I agree with the point above. Some high-end materials are indeed inferior to domestic ones, but 316l is basically no different from imported ones. To be honest, I work in a company that invented duplex steel... and I have a fairly clear understanding of the properties of the material. There is indeed a big difference between domestic and foreign grades of duplex steel, mainly in raw materials and the control accuracy of trace heavy metals. Therefore, domestic duplex steel will have differences unless it buys imported billets.
Domestic dual-phase steel technology is relatively mature and can of course be used. The duplex steel we produce is exported to Germany and the United States, as well as Spain. Foreigners are all buying our Chinese products, so why should we purchase foreign products? Ours is widely used in Zhanjiang and Qinzhou in China.
If it is just 2205 duplex steel, there is no need to use imported steel. However, when looking for domestic manufacturers, you must clearly list the chemical composition and technical requirements, write them into the contract, and strictly inspect and accept them. Currently, the 2205 seamless pipes of domestic manufacturers are exported to Europe and the United States. If they are imported from European and American stockists, the product may just have a different label. Moreover, all foreigners understand this. The truth is, in terms of material, there is not much difference between domestic products and European, American and Japanese products. The big difference is the cost. Of course, domestic manufacturers also have different grades. If the poster is looking for a large domestic manufacturer, I believe it will be the most affordable in terms of cost performance. The above is for reference only. I believe the poster has his own ideas.
Of course it can be used, but generally they are unwilling to take responsibility, so state-owned enterprises generally choose to import, while small private enterprises choose domestically produced products.
