Can EDCI condensation be used for benzyl esterification of dibasic acids? Or use another condensing agent? I reacted succinic acid with benzyl alcohol in dichloromethane solution and used EDCI for condensation. Why didn't it react? There is another reaction that requires both high pressure (0.5-1.0Mpa) and resistance to strong acid corrosion (phosphoric acid). If I coat my stainless steel reactor with a layer of polytetrafluoroethylene, can the above reaction be carried out? ?
For the first question, I probably can’t find the answer in the chemical industry forum. People here are engaged in engineering, and chemical reactions are too far away from the scope of chemical industry. The second question is that the pressure resistance of lined pipes and equipment is not good, so maybe it won’t work. Is it possible to use corrosion-resistant alloys to make reactors?
