There are two types of air supply pressures for control valves: 0.28 MPa and 0.14 MPa. The spring ranges of the corresponding actuators are 80–240 KPa and 0.2–1.0 MPa respectively. What is the difference between them, and how should one choose?
The selection of the actuator is primarily based on the \"maximum operating pressure difference\" specified by the process; the force generated by the actuator must be greater than this pressure. It is best for the manufacturer to calculate this.

The spring range of the actuators corresponding to these pressures is 80–240 KPa for 0.28 MPa and 0.2–1.0 MPa for 0.14 MPa. Generally, when the pressure difference before and after the valve is large, 0.28 MPa is chosen; whereas when the pressure difference is small, the latter pressure value is selected.
Did the poster make a mistake? It should be 0.02–0.1 MPa. The choice should be determined based on the pressure difference range before and after the process control valve.
If the air supply pressure is low, the output force of the actuator will also be low; the manufacturer needs to determine whether this level of force is sufficient to meet the torque requirements, otherwise it may be difficult to open the device or it may operate slowly.
