In terms of design, S2 steam purging or medium-pressure nitrogen purging? Which one is more effective?
Steam purging requires a higher flow rate, but steam resources are generally abundant in most manufacturers. Nitrogen is more expensive; why not consider using air instead?
It’s not a matter of good or bad; steam cleaning yields a cleaner result. Of course, nitrogen is usually high-pressure nitrogen, and our factory uses only high-pressure nitrogen – we don’t have any extra steam available – and the results are still very good. Using both together would be even better
Is the poster referring to the purging before the new pipeline is put into operation, or the purging before each startup? For the former, it is best to degrease after steam purging, while for the latter, high-pressure nitrogen is generally used.
