I saw in the book that there are systems where the water in the container undergoes natural circulation as well as forced circulation; I’m not quite sure how these two methods work
The natural water circulation is used in waste heat boilers; steam is generated as heat is extracted, and the boiler water is replenished to enable natural circulation, and it is commonly used in top-fired boilers. Forced circulation, in which heat is extracted through pressurized circulation using a pump, is quite common.
The self-circulating steam separator is located above the heat exchange equipment; water flows out under its own pressure to exchange heat with the heat source, and after heating up, it returns to the separator. Forced circulation involves installing a pump between the separator and the heat exchange equipment, using the pressure generated by the pump to send water to the heat exchange unit
Natural circulation is a spontaneous type of circulation that does not require any external power; it generally relies on density differences. For example, in a natural circulation waste heat boiler, the water in the downcomer and riser tubes circulates naturally due to differences in density; Forced circulation is easier to understand; it involves using a pump to apply pressure as a driving force to force the fluid to circulate.
