A rotary kiln production line for direct reduced iron is in the commissioning stage. The length of the kiln is 80m, the diameter of the cylinder is 4.8m, and the thickness of the internal brick layer is 230mm. When drying the kiln for the first time, the auxiliary drive is used to rotate with a rotation speed of 0.025rpm. After the kiln was finished, it was discovered that some bricks were loose, and in severe cases, the bricks protruded by 5 centimeters. In particular, the connection between the refractory mud poured at the fan mouth and the bricks is serious. Another phenomenon is that the brick layers were originally staggered during masonry. After drying in the kiln, it was found that there were open seams, indicating that the entire circle of bricks and the kiln shell had slipped. I don’t know if these situations are normal, and if not, how to fix them.

This is not normal. It is recommended that you consider the following aspects:: 1. Brick thickness ; 2. Brick shape ; 3. Bricklaying method, dry or wet ; 4. Brick size ; 5. Is crystal water removed during drying in the kiln? ; 6. Shrinkage of bricks after heating ;
Extremely abnormal, special-shaped bricks should be specially designed, the ash gap should be strictly controlled during masonry, and the heating rate of the kiln should be strictly controlled according to the type of refractory material.
