The water injection rate for crude oil is roughly between 4% and 6%. In other words, the backwash rate should be 8%-12%, and our electrodialysis water injection follows a two-stage re-injection process with one stage for re-injection. Is the total water injection volume divided by 4 equal to the water injection volume for a single tank? . .
There is no flow meter for backwashing in our area, but the flow rate is definitely higher than the normal water injection volume; this allows us to observe the effectiveness of dehydration and the changes in the liquid level
There is no specific requirement for the amount of backwash water in electrodialysis, but it is necessary to maintain an appropriate water level; too much water will flow into the tower and disrupt its operation, while too little water will affect the dehydration process. During backwashing, the actual water level should be taken as a guide, and it is also important to check whether the color of the liquid changes as a sign of proper dehydration
If the amount of water is too low, can it effectively remove the sludge inside? Our unit’s electrodesalinated water has been fed back into the refining process. There are quite a lot of impurities.

The amount of crude oil injected is based on the volume of crude oil in each tank, and it has nothing to do with whether re-injection takes place. If re-injection occurs, the total amount of oil injected will decrease, but the amount injected into each tank remains unchanged.
With too little water, it’s of course impossible to fully remove the sludge inside; generally, the water volume should be at least twice that of the amount of oil injected.
