Is the spacing between pipe supports in thermal pipelines shorter than that in ordinary pipelines?
Let me give you an example: for a steam pipeline insulated at 1.3 MPa and 200 degrees, the maximum allowable span is 4.8 meters, assuming the pipe has dimensions of 108×4 and the insulation material has a density of 350 kg/m3. For the same type of pipe, if the steam pressure is 1.3 MPa but the temperature is 250 degrees, the recommended maximum span is 4.5 meters. You can check the pipeline manual for this. The maximum span is related to the load per unit length of the pipeline, and it must satisfy both strength and stiffness requirements.
