My company has a flow meter that needs to be displayed in three different locations: two DCS systems and one digital display. The flow meter has separate power and signal cables; a 4–20mA signal is normal when sent to these two locations, but it doesn’t get displayed when sent to the third location. Someone suggested that purchasing a signal distributor would allow the data to be displayed there. I would appreciate it if experts could advise me on which company’s products are the best. If I add one more, won’t it show? Is the load too high? I want to know how many displays can be connected in series at most. .
It’s probably due to the long cable length and an incompatible system; it works when two devices are connected, but it stops working when a third one is added
It’s probably because the loop resistance is too high. I’ve used signal devices from the Shanghai Institute of Automation and Beijing Weisheng; there are also other brands that work just fine as well
Since the current in a series circuit is the same, it should be possible to connect three digital displays in series theoretically. However, in practice there is a problem: the third display does not show any information. It’s possible that the load in the circuit is too high, preventing the instruments from functioning properly.
Flowmeters have limitations regarding their load capacity; this parameter is definitely specified in the manual. The input resistance of each DCS or instrument is 250 ohms. Signal distributors are very commonly used devices; a search online will show that many instrument manufacturers produce them.
Those who have used the MTL5043 can connect two outputs.
Choose the manufacturer that supplies your fencing; they will introduce you to them and it’s also a good opportunity to ask for quotes.

Is this signal distributor the same as the 1-to-2 and 1-to-3 isolators? I’ve used an isolator with one input and two outputs; it allows for the separation of an output signal, which is very convenient.
You too – you have a DCS available; how come you don’t know how to use it? 1. Feed your original signal into the DCS, and then perform a data conversion so that it’s output as an AO value. Or are there two other ways to do this? 2. If your DCS operates within the same network, you can simply call one of the addresses, and then the value will be displayed, right?
