This issue relates to the setting of the CV value for the control valve in the TGENT software. I have been using TGNET software to perform calculations for high-pressure gas pipeline network designs recently. I have a question for the experts on this forum: In TGENT, the units have been converted to international units; does the CV value of its control valves correspond to the imperial system, or to the KV value commonly used internationally? This is because the British CV value is 1.167 times the internationally common KV value. In the TGNET software, how are the CV value of the control valve and the valve diameter specified during calculations?
For the CV value of this valve, I usually refer to samples or consult the control valve manufacturer to determine it, rather than deciding on it myself. It is recommended that you consult the manufacturer of the control valve, as there are significant differences in the CV values required for different types of control valves. Additionally, it is recommended that you avoid using TGNET for calculating quantitative control valves, as its results deviate somewhat from the actual values.
