As the title suggests, is it better to feed liquids into a tank from the top or from the bottom? (For example, if the liquid being fed is acetic acid.) I would appreciate some advice from those who know more about this. And for that gas, does it enter from the bottom or from the top? What are the considerations? The liquid is fed from above; the feed pipe extends nearly to the bottom, and its lower end is cut at a 45-degree angle or made into a bent shape; Gas can be fed from both the top and bottom, right?
Most liquid tanks are fed from the top, with the feed pipe extending to the bottom of the tank; an anti-scour baffle is installed (or a similar structure to prevent scouring can also be used). The drain port is at the bottom. I’ve never noticed gas being stored separately, but in cases where gas is used in the mixing of materials, what I’ve seen is that it’s introduced from below, which can serve to facilitate mixing.
Agree with points 3 and 4. However, when installing the liquid inlet pipe, the following factors should be taken into account: 1. The pipe should extend into the liquid, that is, to the lower part of the container, but a certain distance should be left to reduce erosion on the bottom. 2. The pipe needs to be secured to prevent vibration during liquid intake. 3. An exhaust hole should be installed at an appropriate position above the liquid inlet pipe to avoid air blockages. 4. The end of the liquid inlet pipe should not be too close to the level gauge, as this can cause false readings of the liquid level. 5. According to Article 6.2.24 of the Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises, for flammable liquids, \"the feed pipe of the storage tank shall be connected from the lower part of the tank body\"; If access from above is necessary, it should be extended to 200 mm below the bottom of the tank. ”
Our company’s oil tanks are fed from above; what about the gas storage tanks? I’ve never seen it; isn’t the gas storage done in spherical tanks?
The city’s gas is stored in vertical tanks, while liquefied gas is stored in spherical tanks.
Liquid storage tanks generally have inlet ports at the top; for tanks storing flammable liquids, the inlet pipe should be connected from below. For gas tanks, if the gas is used for heating or as a ventilation agent, it is connected from below ; For a gas storage tank filled solely with gravel, it is necessary to determine whether the density of the gas is greater than that of air. If the gas density is higher than that of air, the inlet should be placed at the bottom or at the top of the tank, with the inlet pipe extending all the way to the bottom of the tank ; If the gas density is less than that of air, then it’s the opposite!
