How many coal-to-oil projects are there in the country at present?

Dear fellow sailors, does anyone know how many coal-to-oil projects have already been launched or are in the process of being launched in China? How is the progress of each project? The Yitai project marks the third successful commissioning of a coal-to-oil project in China, following Shenhua and Lu’an. Not long ago, the coal-to-oil project of Yankuang Group was approved by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, indicating that the project will be implemented in Shaanxi Province in the near future. As a result, China’s coal-to-oil industry is now seeing competition among four key players.
There are over 6 pilot plants for coal indirect liquefaction!
Where did you hear that message from? Wasn’t the coal-to-oil project approved only for Shenhua?
1. Shenhua Group 1) Shenhua Group’s coal direct liquefaction project (Ordos) is planned to have an annual capacity of 5 million tons (to be built in two phases), with a pilot scale of 100 tons per year; it represents the world’s first coal-to-oil production line with intellectual property rights. Construction began in August 2004, and at 14:48 on December 30, 2008, the coal liquefaction project was officially put into operation. 2) Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group’s coal-to-oil project (indirect liquefaction), designed with an output of 3 million tons per year; GASIFICATION is carried out using SHELL/SYNTHESIS SASOL. This project is scheduled to be completed by 2020. 2. Yankuang Group: 1) The 1 million tons per year coal indirect liquefaction oil production project at Yankuang Yulin is planned to have an annual capacity of 5 million tons; the first phase will have a capacity of 1 million tons, with an investment of 12 billion yuan. In February 2008, this project passed the evaluation by the National Development and Reform Commission. 3. Lu’an Mining Group: 1) Shanxi Lu’an Coal-based Synthetic Oil Demonstration Plant, with a capacity of 160,000 tons per year; the overall planned capacity is 5.2 million tons per year. This project utilizes technology independently developed by the Shanxi Coal Chemistry Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. This demonstration plant successfully produced oil on December 22, 2009. 4. Inner Mongolia Yitai Group: 1) Inner Mongolia Yitai Group’s coal-based synthetic oil demonstration plant (Ordos), with a capacity of 160,000 tons per year. Using technology independently developed by the Shanxi Coal Chemistry Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, oil production was achieved during a trial run at the Dalu Coal Chemical Industry Base in Jungeer Banner, Ordos City, at 8:15 on March 20. Last year, the Dahe Daily published articles stating that there are risks associated with coal-to-oil production, advising caution in pursuing this approach; only Shenhua was approved for such operations. It was also said that if international oil prices drop below $40 per barrel, coal-to-oil production could result in huge losses ? ?
Currently, it is indeed reported that these 4 companies are the ones involved. Coal-to-oil production holds great prospects in the long term; as oil prices rise, its advantages will become even greater!
