Date: 2009-03-24 Author: **Certification and Supervision Commission** Source: **Certification and Supervision Commission** The standards GB/T12528-2008 \"Cables for rail transit vehicles with an alternating rated voltage of 3 kV and below\", GB/T12972-2008 \"Rubber-sheathed flexible cables for mining use\", and GB/T5023-2008 \"Polyvinyl chloride insulated cables with a rated voltage of 450/750 V and below\" (including six substandards such as GB/T5023.1 to GB/T5023.5 and GB/T5023.7) have been issued, and will come into effect on April 1, 2009, and May 1, 2009, respectively. To ensure the effective implementation of the mandatory product certification system, the **Certification and Accreditation Administration issued a notice recently, clarifying the matters related to the application of the new standards for CCC certification of the aforementioned three types of wire and cable products. The announcement states that cables for rail transit vehicles with a rated voltage of 3 kV or less, mining rubber-sheathed flexible cables, as well as polyvinyl chloride-insulated cables with a rated voltage of 450/750 V or less, must obtain mandatory product certification certificates and be fitted with mandatory certification marks before they can be manufactured, sold, imported, or used in any other commercial activities, effective respectively from April 1, 2010, and May 1, 2010.
