Is a differential pressure control valve the same as a flow control valve? Some factories say it’s the same, while others say it’s different. What exactly is it like? Does anyone know?
In terms of working principle, it’s the same. This is because both flow control and differential pressure control are achieved by adjusting the opening degree of the control valve. Additionally, there is no difference in the calculations either. Regardless of which parameters are controlled, the valve pressure drop and the corresponding flow rate must be provided.
It’s the same; flow rate is regulated through differential pressure. In fact, a control valve is nothing more than a orifice plate that changes the flow area!
