Hello, everyone! I’ve run into such a challenge at work, and I hope those who are aware of this can offer me some help. Our company is currently using a DCS system from Zhejiang University Zhongkong. For work purposes, we need several 24VDC power points, but there aren’t any available in the chassis. I noticed that there are two unused data forwarding cards (RTD12A) in the chassis; could I replace these cards with AD033A cards that meet our requirements? If any of you experts have any suggestions, I would be extremely grateful if you could share them with me!
The hardware configuration must be modified; as long as your device allows the addition of configuration programs online, it can be changed.
Is hardware configuration simply modifying properties in the programming software?
Is your system GCS-2? The RTD12A is not a data forwarding card; it is a thermistor input card. If the AD033A is used as a replacement, temperature-related hardware will need to be added and the configuration will have to be adjusted. However, due to the significant changes in configuration, it is not recommended to perform the download online. It’s better to do it when the device is no longer in production
Is this system indeed the GCS-2 with an added temperature variation feature? How do I increase it? Please let me know!
After the thermocouples and thermal resistors, the signal is sent to a temperature transmitter, and then the 4–20 mA signal is fed into the new AD card. Was I not clear in my text message?
Thank you all. Perhaps I didn’t express myself clearly enough, which led to misunderstandings! What I mean is, there are two unused cards (RTD12A) in the chassis right now, and what I need on site are several points that can provide 24VDC, such as for flow measurement, for example. Can the RTD12A card be directly replaced with an AD033A card that meets the requirements!
Regarding the AD033A module, I can understand it this way. Do you all agree? In other words, I provide an additional 24VDC power supply to the field instruments so that they can display information; these instruments then send back a 4-20mA signal to the AD033A module, which in turn forwards the collected signal to the GCS system!
Modify the hardware configuration by adding a safety barrier to the AD033A circuit to provide 24V DC
I’ve never seen such a model of card holder; we use the ECS-100
There is a 24V power supply from an external source in an available spot.
Yes, with two additional rows of terminal blocks, specifically for 24VDC power supplies
It can be replaced completely. If you can’t do it, contact me on QQ: 381742321. For extra information, I went to Zhejiang University’s Central Control Department, attended DCS training, and obtained a certificate. This post was last edited by wopale3 on 2009-4-17 08:40]
