A couple of days ago we carried out maintenance on our boiler; the insulation around the front arch came loose. After reinstalling the insulation, the insulation fell off in large pieces after 10 hours of drying, so we estimate that 20 hours of drying will be required. Let’s discuss what the reason might be; could it be that the furnace heating time was too short? It’s cut now, and the baking time is 36 hours. Is that enough time?
The furnace temperature should be increased gradually; otherwise, the moisture in the furnace brick lining will evaporate, causing rapid expansion. After the furnace is dried, there should also be a process of reducing the heat to lower the temperature, so as to properly protect the furnace walls.
That’s right; when heating the furnace, it is necessary to follow the temperature rise curve strictly. If, during the heating process, the furnace extinguishes for some other reason, the heating process must be started over! !
When heating the furnace, the temperature change must not be too rapid! !
The heating curve is incorrect; the temperature of the furnace rises too quickly. It is necessary to use wood to increase the temperature gradually, adding more fuel over time, and a small amount of coal can be used later on. I’m not sure what type of boiler this is, but 36 hours is definitely not enough time.
1. It is necessary to ensure that the insulation layer is compacted and tightly packed during construction (special attention should be paid to the joints between old and new materials). 2. The temperature of the furnace during drying must be strictly followed according to the heating curve. 3. A heating method that involves using wood first and then flames should be employed. 4. Is the 36-hour drying time determined based on the heating curve? (The time seems insufficient.)
