1. Installing doors and windows as double-layered ones can effectively reduce heat (cold) loss; 2. Choose an energy-efficient air conditioner, such as an inverter air conditioner ; 3. Optional water-saving toilet tank ; 4. Solar water heaters can be installed if conditions permit ; 5. Optional energy-efficient lighting fixtures with high brightness ; 6. Develop the good habit of turning off lights whenever possible ; 7. Turn off the computer when not in use ; 8. A showerhead should be installed on the drain pipe for bathing; turn off the water supply when using bath gel or soap ; 9. The most important thing is to foster an awareness of energy conservation.
Additional note: 1. For all appliances that can be controlled via a remote control, do not use the remote to turn them off when not in use; instead, unplug them from the power source. 2. Unplug the charger when not in use.
Power consumption in standby mode is considerable, so it’s important to be mindful of conserving energy – specifically, unplugging devices and adapters that are not in use. Furthermore, good living* habits can also help save money. To give a simple example, people in the north eat dumplings more often; after putting them in water, especially once the water starts to boil, it’s not necessary to use high heat – just maintaining the temperature is sufficient to cook them. Using high heat will definitely waste fuel.
There is so much that needs to be done; we need to pay attention to every detail in our lives. Over time, we will realize that we waste a lot of energy, and the awareness of conserving energy should take root in our minds.
1. Keep a ledger to track the consumption of water, electricity, and gas; set limits on usage so as to have fixed monthly expenses. Try to act like Scrooge – use local lighting such as desk lamps for studying, exercise to improve tolerance to heat and cold, reduce the use of air conditioners, take more cold showers, and use the bathtub less for hot baths. Make the food simpler.
It is summer, and opening windows for ventilation in the early morning; before going outside, one should close the windows, especially those facing the sun, and draw the curtains shut. This helps to reduce the cooling load inside the house, as both convection and radiant heat are significantly diminished. As long as one does not live on the top floor or in a house facing west, it is generally possible to feel a noticeable coolness when returning home at noon or in the afternoon. There’s no need to turn on the air conditioner.
