In pharmaceutical factories, glass-lined reducing flanges are quite widely used. I would like to ask whether there are reducing flanges made of other materials besides glass lining What are the advantages and reasons for using reducer flanges compared to regular reducers? Mainly due to price reasons, it has no advantages over flanges with variable diameters; moreover, the pipe resistance is high. In some applications, flanges with variable diameters that take into account space constraints might be advantageous. It seems that flanges with variable diameters are used more often at the inlet and outlet of equipment. Both reduced-diameter flanges and reduced-diameter elbows are used in situations where there is insufficient installation space. Carbon steel versions are the most common, but if there is enough space for installation, using standard flanges and elbows is more cost-effective and easier to obtain
In ordinary pipe fittings, the flange and the reducer are separated; there are dedicated reducer connectors, and they are all standardized in series
