Why must water be removed from the raw gas entering the PSA device? If the separated gas contains free water and saturated water, only a certain amount of saturated water can be removed in the adsorption bed. Then during the adsorption process, if a large amount of water is brought into the adsorption tower, the performance of the adsorbent will decrease or even fail. At this time, the failed adsorbent needs to be reactivated or replaced. The activation of the adsorbent requires the circulation of inert gas with a temperature above 150°C, which is time-consuming, laborious, and quite difficult. Therefore, the water content entering the PSA device must be strictly controlled during operation and must not contain mechanical water.
Generally, the dew point of the product gas is required to be very high, and water removal is mainly to ensure the dew point of the product gas.
The main purpose is to protect certain adsorbents from damage; Also, because water is a substance with strong adsorption capacity and is difficult to analyze, even if the adsorbent is not destroyed by water, the regeneration of this adsorbent is also a great test.
The back-end section has very strict water requirements. The adsorbent in the back-end system is afraid of water. It is difficult for the adsorbent to enter water and desorb. It will increase the work and carry too much water for a long time, which will have an impact on the equipment.
