There are multiple water coolers at the installation site; some of them are fully insulated, some are insulated only at the heat source area, and some are insulated at the head of the circulating water while the tube box and flanges remain uninsulated. I think when considering insulation, it’s important to determine whether the medium is to be cooled or heated – which is the main goal. If the goal is to cool the hot side, then insulation isn’t necessary for that side; isn’t natural heat dissipation sufficient?; If the medium is heated, insulation should be provided.
What was said on the 2nd floor is correct; therefore, the medium that needs to be cooled usually flows through the shell side, as this allows heat to be dissipated through the shell; If the medium in the shell side is used for heating, insulation must be provided.
There are two purposes for insulation: 1. Energy saving (in high or low temperatures). 2. Safety protection: To prevent burns, areas where temperatures that could cause burns exist must be insulated.
