I’d like to share my experience after taking the Professional English test: 1. Teachers Wang Xia and Sun Wei were very accurate in predicting the exam questions； 2. The questions in the exam are quite easy; as long as you study the textbook thoroughly on a regular basis, that’s sufficient ； 3. Most of the answers in the exam questions are straightforward; regardless of whether you can understand them or not, you must find the source of those phrases in the original text ； 4. When taking an exam, first skim through the entire paper and tackle the questions you are familiar with first. If you’re well-accustomed to a particular type of question, you can simply choose the answer right away, which helps save time ； 5. For questions you’re not sure about in the exam, you can leave them blank and review them carefully after finishing the rest of the test ；
Hehe, that’s right~ After the exam, I heard many people say they didn’t have enough time and couldn’t finish all the questions. I think they didn’t understand the characteristics of the professional English test; in fact, for the reading section, it’s not necessary to really understand the text – you can just look for the answers directly~

This year’s questions are harder than last year’s. I could score over 90 points on last year’s questions, but this time I can get at most around 80 points. I really couldn’t read the full text carefully enough for this year’s task, so I’m not sure about the answers. Last edited by xuning1979 on 2009-3-31 21:44]
With the textbook and a not-too-poor foundation, it shouldn’t be a problem; I managed to pass rather unexpectedly, scoring 60. Sigh.
I feel that the questions this year are simpler. I couldn’t finish them last year and only got 55 points :( I think I should be fine this time
The questions from last year seemed more difficult, but those this year weren’t that hard; plus there were 2 original questions, so they could be considered fairly simple. It was only the fifth question, which involved completing a passage, that was tricky; I wasn’t sure about that one, but I managed to finish the rest quickly
With a decent vocabulary, the questions aren’t difficult; if you work on them carefully and include the exercises from the book, passing should not be a problem
Normally, just keep looking at English so you don’t forget it too quickly. Plus, the exam questions aren’t very difficult, so it should be no problem to pass.

I applied this year, but my workplace said there were too many applicants, so everyone in my group was rejected. I plan to try to take the professional English exam again next year and would like to learn from everyone’s experience.

What type of questions are the two original questions? Reading comprehension or fill-in-the-blank multiple-choice?
For the 15th floor, one question is reading comprehension and the other is cloze test

I took the Science and Engineering B exam. Since I had graduated from school just a couple of years earlier, I still enjoyed reading books in English. I spent two to three weeks studying before the exam, usually doing so in the evenings after work; this allowed me to recall many words, so I didn’t have any difficulties with the reading section. I also did several practice tests to assess my actual level, and after taking the exam I felt that passing it should not be a problem.
Actually, there’s no need to attend any training courses; just working on past exam papers is sufficient. For past exam papers, you can buy that textbook; if you think it’s too expensive, there are plenty of options available online. The most important thing is to carefully prepare the new content each year; two original questions from 2009 came from here.
According to Teacher Zhang Kehua, 2008 was the hardest year (with the lowest pass rate in many years). 2009 was relatively simple, and the pass rate is estimated to be above the average over the past few years. The difficulty might increase again in 2010.
