Dear colleagues, we are planning to use stabilizer bottom gasoline (180 degrees) to directly flash-cut the components before 90 degrees. Is this feasible? Or it can be done directly by condensation at the top of the splitter tower – does anyone have experience in this area? Please give more guidance, thank you||||
Is this guy going to go through gasoline etherification? To cut off the components below 90°C, the stabilizer tower must be modified.

Although I have never encountered such a situation, I think using flash evaporation to separate fractions is questionable! Vaporization is a single process of vaporization; the light fractions that are distilled out contain all of the heavy fractions, and the heavy fractions contain all of the light fractions, with only the proportions changing. Good separation cannot be achieved. It is relatively difficult to determine at which point to cut (at 90°C). Of course, it depends on your requirements for the raw materials used in gasoline etherification. If it’s not too strict, you might consider giving it a try.
Flash evaporation alone is not sufficient to meet separation requirements; distillation must be carried out. Depending on the required purity of the product, the precision of distillation can be reduced to cut down on investment costs.
We added a gasoline cutting tower behind the stabilizer tower to separate light gasoline (for reactive reprocessing) from heavy gasoline (to be sent out of the plant).

Strictly speaking, it’s better for us to use light oil instead of gasoline, as the density of our oil varies sometimes, and its dry point is also not consistent. Reply 9# daiqijun0000: Our plant uses the MGD process, but the effect of reducing olefins is not satisfactory; therefore, an additional gasoline stabilization column was added (with a heat source at its bottom to serve as a reboiler). The light components rich in olefins from the top of this column are sent back to the reaction riser for reprocessing, while the heavy gasoline from the bottom is sent to the gasoline hydrogenation unit. The process flow is quite simple; it is similar to that of a stabilizer tower. Products are obtained from the top and bottom of the tower. A reflux tank is installed at the top of the tower – part of the liquid in this tank is used for reflux to control the temperature at the top, while another part is sent to the riser for reprocessing. Rerefined oil is used as the heat source at the bottom of the tower to control the temperature there, thereby regulating the cutting ratio.
There is a separate gasoline cutting unit in the form of a gasoline cutting tower, with a reboiler at the bottom of the tower. The product is divided into three parts: the light gasoline at the top of the tower is sent to the gasoline refining unit; Reprocess heavy gasoline through hydrodesulfurization and further refining ; Adjust diesel at the bottom of the tower. That’s exactly what we do.
