Please share your experiences with the use of shock wave soot blowers (in boilers, electrostatic precipitators, etc.). Is it really that effective?
Shock wave soot blowing is widely used in our factory and works well, but there is one problem: the equipment has a high failure rate and requires frequent maintenance. Moreover, its blasting power is too great, posing significant safety risks. I have been using it for several years now, and I am currently looking for ways to replace it.
What kind of soot blower should be used in place of the one upstairs?
Based on personal experience, steam soot blowing is the most effective and direct method. If the maintenance capacity can keep up, steam soot blowing is the safest and most effective method. But the maintenance workload is slightly higher. Moreover, steam soot blowing can now also be fully automated.

With the variability in coal quality nowadays, preventing coking is a key issue, and steam soot blowing is the most effective method; however, the acoustic soot blowers in our plant do not perform well.
