Does anyone know what the former Ninth Chemical Engineering Institute is called now, and where it is located?
1. The former Ministry of Chemical Industry had nine design institutes, from the First Design Institute to the Ninth Design Institute, each with its own characteristics and areas of expertise. These design institutes have now been reorganized into engineering companies: Tianchen Engineering Company (the First Design Institute of the Ministry of Chemical Industry), located in Tianjin; Huatai Engineering Company (the Second Design Institute of the Ministry of Chemical Industry), located in Taiyuan; Donghua Engineering Company (the Third Design Institute of the Ministry of Chemical Industry), located in Hefei; Wuhuan Engineering Company (the Fourth Design Institute of the Ministry of Chemical Industry). Sinopec Ningbo Engineering Company (formerly the Lanzhou Design Institute of Sinopec, the Fifth Design Institute of the Ministry of Chemical Industry) is based in Ningbo. Hualu Engineering Company (the Sixth Design Institute of the Ministry of Chemical Industry) is located in Xi’an. Sinopec Nanhua Design Institute (the Seventh Design Institute of the Ministry of Chemical Industry) is based in Nanjing. Chengda Engineering Company (the Eighth Design Institute of the Ministry of Chemical Industry) is located in Nanjing. CNPC Northeast Design Company (formerly the design institute of Jilin Chemical Industry Group, the Ninth Design Institute of the Ministry of Chemical Industry) is based in Jilin.
2. In terms of expertise in nitrogen fertilizer design, Tianchen, Wuhuan (with its nitrogen fertilizer design center located within the company), and Chengda belong to the top tier. Huatai excels in coking technologies, Donghua specializes in water treatment, while Hualu focuses on fine chemicals. Ningbo and Jilin have shifted their focus to the petrochemical industry. It seems that Nanjing’s performance is declining.
Thank you to the original poster; now I finally understand it.
Originally known as the Northeast Branch of China National Petroleum Corporation Engineering Design Co., Ltd., it is now called CNPC Northeast Refining & Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd.!
It seems that only the Ninth Hospital has been brought under CNPC.
Got it. Sinopec Ningbo Engineering Company seems to be pretty impressive :)
The person upstairs is a fellow practitioner like me.

Chengda is the best, right? Tianchen is second, and Ningbo is also good
I’ve seen it! Our company was originally the Fifth Research Institute! :lol
Compared to the Beijing branch, the Luoyang branch is still much inferior. . .
As for the Luoyang Dawn Chemical Engineering Design Institute, it was not originally included in the list under the Ministry of Chemical Industry; it’s not clear what its status has become now.
Huanqiu seems to have been separated from Huahua First Hospital
The 9th Design Institute of the Ministry of Chemical Industry: From 2002 to 2008, it was known as CNPC Engineering Design Co., Ltd. Northeast Branch (previously called the Design Institute of Jilin Chemical Industry Group); it was located in Jilin. In 2008, it was reorganized and became the Jilin Design Institute of CNPC Northeast Refining and Chemical Engineering Company
The original poster is really amazing; among Sinopec’s various research institutes, only those in Beijing and Luoyang are quite outstanding
That former second hospital – it’s too far away; isn’t that company called Saiding Engineering Company?
Huanqiu was formerly known as Hua Yi Yuan; it was reorganized into Huanqiu in 1984 and is now under the jurisdiction of China National Petroleum Corporation.
